Who are we
Ancient future practices
Each of the course leaders and trainers are members of the Community of Aidan and Hilda, a new monastic dispersed community with connections across the world. Our goal is to introduce spiritual practices from the Celtic Christian tradition. We are convinced that the postmodern world is ready to adopt a more holistic way to live. The Celtic Church modelled an alternative to fast paced, frenetic and consumer oriented lifestyles. They did this by living out a Way of Life which included rhythms of spiritual practices (like prayer and sabbath), an eco-friendly appreciation for creation, dependence on the Holy Spirit, a high view of scripture, and culturally relevant mission.
Soul friendship and a Way of Life are core practices to help us follow Christ with authentic and transparent lives. There is a fascinating passage in Galatians 2:2 where Paul reveals some of his doubt.
"I went in response to a revelation and, meeting privately with those esteemed as leaders, I presented to them the gospel that I preach among the Gentiles. I wanted to be sure I was not running and had not been running my race in vain."
There are times when leaders are uncertain, doubting who they are and what they are doing. This is a time for soul searching and finding advice from others.
